![]() During the 1950s, the RAF replaced the Mosquito with the jet-powered English Electric Canberra.ĭevelopment Construction concepts pioneered in the DH.88 Comet were later used in the Mosquito.īy the early to mid-1930s, de Havilland had built a reputation for innovative high-speed aircraft with the DH.88 Comet racer. The Mosquito was also operated by the RAF in the Southeast Asian theatre and by the Royal Australian Air Force based in the Halmaheras and Borneo during the Pacific War. The Mosquito flew with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and other air forces in the European, Mediterranean, and Italian theatres. On 30 January 1943, the 10th anniversary of Hitler being made chancellor and the Nazis gaining power, a morning Mosquito attack knocked out the main Berlin broadcasting station while Hermann Göring was speaking, taking his speech off the air. VI was often flown in special raids, such as Operation Jericho (an attack on Amiens Prison in early 1944), and precision attacks against military intelligence, security, and police facilities (such as Gestapo headquarters). A single passenger could ride in the aircraft's bomb bay when necessary. The crew of two, pilot and navigator, sat side by side. It was also used by the British Overseas Airways Corporation as a fast transport to carry small, high-value cargo to and from neutral countries through enemy-controlled airspace. Originally conceived as an unarmed fast bomber, the Mosquito's use evolved during the war into many roles, including low- to medium-altitude daytime tactical bomber, high-altitude night bomber, pathfinder, day or night fighter, fighter-bomber, intruder, maritime strike, and photo-reconnaissance aircraft. In 1941, it was one of the fastest operational aircraft in the world. Lord Beaverbrook, Minister of Aircraft Production, nicknamed it "Freeman's Folly", alluding to Air Chief Marshal Sir Wilfrid Freeman, who defended Geoffrey de Havilland and his design concept against orders to scrap the project. Unusual in that its frame was constructed mostly of wood, it was nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder", or "Mossie". I'm sure if you mess around with "Set Priority" in Task Manager you could bump the FPS up more, though. The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito is a British twin-engined, multirole combat aircraft, introduced during the Second World War. ![]() For example, you can run Halo Online (Halo 3 on PC) with two separate copies and not have to worry about low FPS because it focuses on both Halo 3 windows at once. It is rather noticable, but it isn't because your computer can't run two separate copies of the game at once, it's just that your computer focuses less on background processes, so the fps gets "artificially lowered". Wow, that's really, really amazing, but doesn't the perfomance get heavily affected by having two stances of the game running? Position the two windows next to eachother, (Or if you have multiple monitors, have two separate fullscreen windows), and it's done. Then one CURE window hosts, and the other CURE window (player 2) joins the hosted server you created. You then need to set it so one version of CURE runs on a controller, and your version of CURE runs on a keyboard and mouse. Then, you run Codename CURE on both Steams that you have. It isolates a copy of Steam from the rest of your computer, which allows you to run two separate copies of Steam at once. You need to download Sandboxie, and then launch Steam from inside Sandboxie. The other window will have a rather low framerate though it depends on how powerful your PC is. ![]() It requires downloading some external programs, though. Karne, you're in luck, because I have a method of playing splitscreen. You'd be surprised what I can do with this engine. Originally posted by Hoobalugalar_X:not with this engine.
